Our Abundant Nothingness
5:33 min in 3 parts, 2021
“This is a multivocal exploration of a transnational experience that Bonnie and I, in part, share. Composed across and of multiple conversations, experiments, and texts, we consider how migration and loss are embodied, recognized, and at times, vocalized in place and time.”
Summer Solstice Meditation
9:40min Soundscape (with additional elements by Jake Sokolov-Gonzalez), 2021
The Haus of Glitter Dance Company taps into the history of our waters with a movement performance and sound bath meditation, led by Anthony “AM.” Andrade. The piece is also a selection from their activist dance opera “The Historical Fantasy of Esek Hopkins”, premiering on September 9th.
We Chased the Water
2:13 min, 2021
“We Chased the Water is a piece inspired by the Great Salt Cove. Much like the Cove newcomers to this country have been forced to morph or cover who they truly are in order to assimilate to a new culture, often denying them the knowledge they carry and bring to the land. I imagined an uncovering where everyone can be seen and accepted for who they are. A deep understanding and recognition of the value of ancestral wisdom, and of the rich culture immigrants bring to this country.“
Coral
2:47 min, 2021
Coral is part of a project called Seaspace Landscape, a poetry and music collaboration by S. Tourjee and Emily Dix Thomas.
Various durations, currently 45+ minutes, Jake Sokolov-Gonzalez + Nadav Assor
